What would JEsus think of the EMS?
Let us answer this by looking at parables from the bible.
Jesus recognized the importance of money and the proper use of it, and He spoke of that principle many times. When the rich young ruler came to Jesus asking what he could do to inherit eternal life, Jesus told him to sell all he had, and the young man went away sorrowing (Luke 18:18-23). Jesus used this incident to state, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Those who heard this asked, "Who then can be saved?" Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."(Luke 18:24-27, NIV). It is possible with God for we know that a rich man named Joseph of Arimathea gave his tomb for Jesus to be laid in (Matthew 27:57).
In the above parable, it is clear that Jesus is telling us that we need to cease poverty by restoring equality amongst all. He made it clear that poverty is not something that we should wish for, and as stated above, it is something we need to overcome and not let happen on earth. His statement regarding how hard it is for the rich to have eternal life correlates with the notion that those that have possessions find it hard to let go of their possessions to give to the poor. People have become so aborbed with materialism that they have forgotten where they stand in relation to that. That is where selfishness comes into play and people chose to play a blind eye on what is happening around the world so that they do not have to do something about it. Instead, they end up thinking in terms of what is best for me as opposed to what is best for all and therefore the world becomes a place where only greed and selfishness abides.
In order for Jesus' teachings on money to take place on earth, we need to create a system where rich people do not need to donate what they have to the poor. Instead, a system based on equality and oneness will reign. That is a system where we will be born with food provided to us and shelter as well so that we do not have to fight over the basic nessecities of life.
Rather than wasting money on donations and charities and not knowing where your money goes, why not join together and recreate a world where charities will NOT exist? Charity implies that you are giving away something out of pity and usually that someone ends up being seen as inferior, so that creates inequality among people. Is that what you intend on promoting? Inequality among human beings? If that is the starting point, then inequality will reign on this planet and we will never see light at the end of the tunnel.
Please be careful where you invest all your money. Donating to charity will not save the world. Over the past few decades, people have been donating endlessly to causes like finding cures for cancer, and have they found one? We have probably donated millions of dollars for cancer research but we are still stuck with high death tolls due to cancer each year. Therefore, donating to the poor and needy via charity is not a practical solution for the current world.
